Why is my wax surface uneven or cracked after cooling?Updated 14 days ago
This usually happens when the wax is poured at too high a temperature or cools too quickly once poured.
To get the best result, wait until the wax has stopped steaming before pouring it into your vessel. Once poured, leave it to set somewhere away from drafts or cold surfaces, as sudden temperature changes can affect how the wax settles.
Small cracks or an uneven surface are cosmetic and will not affect how your candle burns. Unfortunately, there is no way to smooth these out after the fact, so taking your time with the pouring step is the best way to avoid them.
