It comes down to personal preference and the look you are going for.

The gloss varnish gives your piece a shiny, reflective finish that makes the colours pop. The matte varnish gives a smooth, flat finish with no shine for a more natural look.

Both varnishes are waterproof and will protect your piece from moisture. If your piece gets wet, just wipe it down. That said, we would not recommend leaving your piece in prolonged contact with water or submerging it.

When ordering your kit, you will be asked to choose which finish you prefer.
